The Woods: Away.

It's where we are.

We r fine. Lots of delays missed connections. In Montreal for the night. Been up for almost 24 hours. But getting full belly on airline’s dime at least (and nice digs). Back in u.s. tomorrow. Excited about people respecting traffic laws, clean clothing, and not trying to remember how to say “do u speak English?”

Au revoir, Paris! Now going from 60-65 and sometimes rain to 80-85 and sunny Rome.

Seine River night cruise last night was mind-blowing and inexpensive.

Versailles was huge and insanely opulent. I can see why French peasants would have been just a wee bit p o’d.

Getting in in time for dinner tonight than going on the big tour tomorrow.

Hi! The internet here has been acting up, which is why we havent posted recently. We are great. On Friday we went to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and St. Chappelle. Yesterday we did the Orsay, Army, Rodin, Arche de Triompe, and Champs de Elysses. Today we went to Versailles and we are transferring hotels for a night in the Latin Quarter of Paris before heading to Rome tomorrow. We are le tired, but we are having fun. We have taken approximately 1 million pictures, so be excited for that when we get home =).

Joeys thoughts on day 7

There is nothing here that is not: 1) beautiful 2) historic 3) something I took a picture of today. Took 166. But most were attempts to take a picture of the fireworks.

Joeys thoughts on day 5

I dragged Rachel to a whole bunch of cool places. We saw on of four origional magna carta! And I guess the words to a pretty popular song about yesterday. We also sat in as the British parliament debated city government and just like on cspan they booed and made fun of each other. A great day overall

R. Ooh! Another baguette!
J. Everyone here has a baguette.
R. That's not even a stereotype that's just true.

14th of July.

It’s kind of a big deal here. Saw the president and the fly overs at the parade. Toured on a bus, went up the tour de Eiffel, ate a picnic dinner on la Seine, and watched the fireworks. Notes include Parisians are craziest drivers yet, roads have no rules, graffiti is everywhere, and everyone here felt the need to build a palace/monument copied from Greece or Rome. Not complaining, everything is gorgeous. Also, waay cheap wine and cheese. Too cheap. Partaking a lot. Yum.
